This summer has seen an unprecedented number of wasps locally, however there season is nearly over.
Which means other pests to worry about, like rats, mice, bedbugs, fleas, cluster flies, moths, silverfish, moles and the occasional cockroach.
The good news is we can treat all of the above professionally cost effectively and don`t forget we are Local.
As always we are happy to offer free advice if needed.

Wasps
Well we have had an exceptional summer so far unfortunately at the expense of the garden, however wasps are also enjoying the great weather.
Calls for wasp treatment has been very busy with 7am to 7pm being a normal day, but alarmingly we have discovered some companies are charging between £60 & £100 + plus VAT for treatment which we think is very extreme.
£40.00 all inclusive Is what we charge, regardless if its same day.
Fair price for fair work local.

The legislative requirements relating to the use of rat bait are changing.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has tasked the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU) to co-ordinate the development and delivery of the stewardship regime. The changes are to combat the issue of poisoning non-target animals.
As a result of this, customers will start to see some new labels appearing on products weighing over 1.5kg, with restrictions on purchase of any rodenticides that carry the new CRRU label unless you are able to prove that you are a professional user. The legislation also states any product already owned by an amateur user must be used by 31 March 2017.

Cluster flies
Lots of flies around windows and dead on the floor.
These are cluster flies they are not associated with dead and decaying matter, however they are a parasite.
Harmless but annoying to you because of there numbers.
Cluster flies are normally found close to grass areas, they lay there eggs in earth worm borrows, the larve hatch & find the earth worm to burrow into and live off until its time to be an adult.
During autumn they find a loft space like yours to hibernate, they leave a pheromone telling future generations how nice your home is to live in.
The good news is we can stop this & doesn’t cost a fortune.
For info please call.

It’s all about Rats
So we are at the time of year when the second wave of rats are moving from the beet fields as it gets lifted.
They have lost the beet as there food source so they are hungry and looking for opportunities, if you feed the birds keep a close eye on how much food is being consumed if it raises by a significant amount you could be feeding the rats.
As always if you have any questions etc please feel free to get in touch we provide free advice.
